Signs that your child is burned out and stressed

There are more opportunities available for children today than in the previous generations because the world has become much more interconnected. Which is great for exposure but can be really rough on the children because we also expect more. This in turn can lead to a burn out in children. In other words, they become stressed out. Here are some warning signs that you need to know in case your child might be heading towards a burn out.

  1. Irritability, restlessness, mood swings, and combativeness
  2. Fatigue
  3. Apathy
  4. Changes in sleep patterns
  5. Avoidance of activities they used to enjoy
  6. Lack of motivation to do anything

If you do feel that your child is nearing the tipping point, you should consider cutting back on some of the activities and give your child time to breath and regroup.

These are great things to look out for. I think we forget as adults that children need breaks too.
