As the year progresses and another season of Spring 2015 starts, there is also a turn and changes in street wear trends for both men and women. As the weather warms up, a number of clear trends are emerging.
One trend for women is short suits. In offices where the dress code is flexible, tailored short suits that are well cut with shorts that reach at least the knee look just as sharp as a knee-length skirt suit. The suits are being worn with a blouse and sometimes with matching ladies waistcoat instead of a jacket as temperatures rise.
Tweed seems to be the fabric of season. It is being used quite a bit to make the suits and ladies waistcoats. Perhaps the idea is to make up for the casualness of a short with the crispness and austerity of tweed so that it works for the office. A favorite way to wear the suits seems to be with tights and heels which also validates it for the workplace.
Sporty dresses are also on trend. Last year, skater-style dresses became a hit and it seems they will continue to be through the current season. For one, the dresses are fun and flirty and the A-line skirt works very well to disguise heavy thighs because it skims over them. Styles with a fitted bodice and nipped-in waist also work for athletic body shapes because the A-line skirt creates the illusion of shapely hips.
Another type of short that is back in style is the Bermuda short. There are Bermuda shorts for men and women. Both can wear them with casual tees. Men can wear them with Polo, collared t-shirts and sports shoes or loafers while women can rock them with halter tops, vests and tees.
The monochromatic look is on spot in the current season’s street wear. There is a clear departure from the color blocking rage of last year that put together shades like blue and red, orange and purple and green and yellow. Now it is dark colors like black, navy, charcoal grey being worn and accessorized with white and shades of it or with pastel shades. A lot deep jewel tones like jungle green, burgundy and deep purple are also quite common.
Some stables remain for street wear though. Leather will never go out for fashion for jackets and club outfits like leather skirts and trousers. Denim is another timeless street wear favorite.
