Guilt free recipes to try this season

The holiday season is well known for family, fun, laughter, gifts, and food! It is a wonderful time of the year, but many regret their December binge eating when January rolls around. It is just a part of the holiday season, right? Wrong! In fact, with these three guilt free recipes, and making sure you do not eat too many of Grandma’s holiday cookies, you may even end up losing weight and looking great!

For a healthy appetizer, try these Deviled Eggs!

What you will need:

  • 12 eggs
  • 2/3 Cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • A dash of salt and pepper
  • Paprika

Boil, peel, and slice the eggs in half as you normally would, placing the yolks in a separate bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork or spoon, then stir in your Greek yogurt, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until you have a thick and creamy mix. Put your mix into your eggs as you normally would. Garnish with paprika

This recipe saves you about 50 calories in comparison to normal deviled eggs!

Mac-and-cheese is a great holiday favorite, but also the source of a lot of calories. Try this recipe instead!

What you will need:

  • 1/2 a Cup of fat-free milk
  • 1 cup of cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup of reduced fat cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 Cups of macaroni (boiled)
  • A dash of salt and pepper

Coat a one quart cooking dish with non-stick cooking spray and preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Put your milk, cottage cheese, onion, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper into a blender. Blend until smooth. In a large mixing bowl, combine your blend with your macaroni and 1/4 cup of your cheddar cheese. Transfer your mix into your one quart cooking dish and cover with tin foil and bake it in the oven at 375 degrees for thirty minutes until golden brown or the edges bubble.

A 1/2 cup serving equals approximately 140 calories!

Last, but certainly not least, dessert! Yes, dessert can be guilt free too! Try this Peppermint Bark to make your taste buds sing, and still get a head start on your New Years resolution!

What you will need:

  • 1/2 cup coconut butter
  • 13 drops pure peppermint extract
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of sugar free maple syrup
  • Crushed up candy cane (for garnish)

Mix coconut butter, peppermint extract, and sugar free maple syrup in a large mixing bowl (if it becomes hard, toss it into the microwave for around 30 seconds). Spread your mix onto a flat cooking pan or wax paper. Sprinkle on peppermint garnish and then freeze them.

And there you have a guilt-free holiday season!

  • Mac-and-cheese is a no brainer, when I carve this bad boy I eat a lot of it only to wake up in the morning hating myself for messing up with my body once again. I’m on a low gluten diet and most of the time I eat healthy but when I pig out, I pig out in style haha.

  • I plan to lose 20 pounds by June and need all the help I can get. Thanks for the healthier deviled eggs, can’t wait to try them.
